It seems to be possible - YES . The prevention of this kind of maliciousness is the constant work of the anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-popup- programmers.

YES it would be dangerous to check your email and other sensitive, personal, password protected programs from cyber cafes, or any public computer, including the public Library, or the Radio Shack store.

in order to best protect you must run on your PC antivirus, firewall and spyware/adware removal tools

Reply:Yes. There's a program called Brut Force that does a lot. They can use a dictionary password check to identify your user ID. They can even run the program while they're sleeping. Regardless of where you check your email, your home computer needs to be protected with several applications including firewalls, anti-spyware, virus protection, and so on. It's always a good idea to change your password frequently %26amp; never use the same password for everything.
Reply:Short answer: Yes.

Long Answer: Google "identity theft"
Reply:Of course. Here's one I know: It is a program that can be installed on your computer and email the hacker all of your personal info. My children play on Runescape and have had it twice already. They used to shut the virus scanner off because it makes their computer run slow. They don't anymore.
