How do I delete my Yahoo Email, 360 and messenger account from Yahoo?

I'm tired of the frustration with trying to edit such things as my nickname or my profile. Every time I try and do this, (I do hit the save or finish and save tab every time) but It always goes right back to the original settings. Also In the help topics It says to edit your nickname, click on the home page, then under your nickname on that page click on the "change this" under your name.....there Is no "change this" under my name. What gives with this place? HELP!

Reply:Deleting is not necessary, but I will give instructions for that after I explain how to deal with your Basic Settings problem.





Simply, make sure ALL fields marked with a red asterisk are filled in properly on the Basic Info settings page, or the page will not save.





- Click on your "Settings" link at the top right of the page.


- There is a section called "Nickname" on that page (BASIC INFO). Change it there. You can also change the "Name" above that section.


NOTE: If you don't want your name to show, you can't delete your name but you can hide it or use a fake name. However, something is required to be in the first %26amp; last name fields. So, make sure to click on the "can be seen by" drop down next to that section and make it "Just Me (Private)" if you don't want the name to be seen, but you must put something in the blanks.


- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page. If done correctly, it will likely take you to your "Home" page.


- Then, go back to the "Basic Info" settings and scroll down to Yahoo! Identity Display and make sure the box next to your Yahoo ID is checked, the "select as primary" radio button is selected, and then your choice of the other options.


- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

CLOSING YOUR 360 SPACE:


Go to http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/ch... and click the Account Deletion link. If you read through the text, you will find this will also delete all associated services for that account like Yahoo! Mail.





So, if you don't want to completely lose your Yahoo ID, then I suggest removing all content and information that you added to Yahoo! 360. Make all your settings (basic info, blog, communication, and every module on your "My Page") set to "Friends" or "Just Me (Private)". The "Just Me (Private)" setting is preferred, but if you don't have that option choose "Friends." Delete all your friends (see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/fri... ).





You can't completely get rid of the 360 functionality without deleting your entire Yahoo account (mail, photos, etc.). You can only make sure no one who you haven't invited can view a feature and make sure that there's nothing there to view.

Reply:go to the accounts option at the top of this page and delete you account with yahoo.. that is the only way to delete your 360 pages completely.





You have to dump it all.. answers, email, and 360. They are all issued to you under your one email id. You must delete the entire account to get rid of any part of it.. I know it stinks.. but that is what we have to do. I am sure there is a good reason that they set it up this way as they all link together.


Don't give up please! Delete this account that is full of glitches and bugs and make another one and get a new set of 360 pages.. they may work like a charm for you.. I usually have no trouble with mine at all.. has been good from the start.
