How do i get the notification sound back on my messenger when i have an email or IM message?

my messenger doesnt make a sound anymore when i receive an email or when someone im's me what can i do?

How do i get the notification sound back on my messenger when i have an email or IM message?
double click to run your massenger


sign in to your massenger


click "messenger"menu


click "preferences"


click "alerts and sounds"


in alert and sound dialog box check the box near "enable sound alerts"


now choose your options on that events that u want to hear sounds


you can choose your desired sound by clicking "browse" near "playing a sound" and browsing thru your system for your preferable sound file


click "apply" and "ok"


also check your windows sound volume is set enough to hear sound and not muted (clicking "speaker" like icon on the system tray (extreme right) on taskbar)

Reply:Open Yahoo! Messenger. Click on "Messenger" in the toolbar - top left- then choose "Preferences".


Choose Alerts %26amp; Sounds on the left side, and then you'll see the options to allow sound alerts for IMs, contact availabity, email and other Yahoo! Alerts.
Reply:go to your persinal options and than just click on sounds or messages and it should have options saying " make a sound .."blah blah"
