You can or if you dont go to your email for a while they shut it down for you auto until you log back in there wont be any messages in your inbox but you can delete or close down your email or just dont check it.....
How can I delete my yahoo email account without deleting the yahoo messenger part of it ?
there is no way to delete it. If there is no activity on it for 90 days, yahoo will delete it
Reply:you can't. yahoo e-mail and and yahoo messanger are by yahoo. they use your same accoutn to access it. so if u delete ur e-mail account ur yahoo messanger account is gone to :D

When you go to this site, scroll down till you come to the part where it say Account Deletion Page. Click on that. Then you can delete your Yahoo account. It wont delete the Messenger part, but you will have to have a new Yahoo E-Mail address to log in to the Yahoo Messenger.

Reply:You Don't need to delete it cuz eventually it will delete it's self...your asking how? Well this helped to my mom if you don't log on to your email for about three months and your account will be canceled! Try that and if that does work then contact Yahoo mail.
